THIRTY FACTS ABOUT ME

November 5, 2014

I've said it before and I'll say it again:  we're all just jumbled up mixtures of miscellaneous stuff.

Which, as it turns out, isn't such a bad thing.  If we were all the same, the world would be a pretty boring place.  A lot of the greatest inventions of our time wouldn't have been invented because no one would have been original enough to invent them!

Some of the greatest people in history were great simply because they thought out of the box and "did their own thing."  So strive to be the next genius by embracing that side of yourself that you might have mislabeled as "weird"--you really meant "original."

In accordance with the theme of originality, I'm going to be sharing a few facts about myself that are a bit odd (to me at least).  Sit back, pull up a chair, and get ready to laugh!

30 Unique Facts About Me -- Prep For A Day

1. I know the lyrics to almost every hit song from the 70's because I've heard those songs since about the age of six-- my parents blast the 70's channel nonstop!
2. I'm a huge Lord of the Rings nerd.  I'm literally in agony waiting for the last part of the Hobbit to come out in December!  Fellow nerds:  don't let the orcs get you down.
3.  I also love the Harry Potter series, so my dream is to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal one day.
4. How's it goin' bros!?  My new obsession:  Pewdiepie.
5. I love watching people play horror games on YouTube.  Not sure why (I'm usually a huge chicken), but I'm betting it has to do with the fact that I can skip ahead to prepare myself for jump scares.
6. I start listening to Christmas music in July.
7. I love the FineBros channel on YouTube as well.  Elders React has to be my ultimate fave!
8. I have my own spray tanning machine/booth at home.
9. I can't whistle.  I've tried, but it never seems to work out.
10. I hate going to the nail salon.
11. I think I've seen about eight versions of Jane Eyre in the past year.
12. My favorite thing to read has always been mythology.  My dad loves that stuff too, and he trained me to be a total Greek nerd.
13. I'm obsessed with Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess (look them up)!
14. I can still wear kid sizes in shoes.
15. I think that cotton candy is the best thing in the entire world (besides whipped cream).
16. I always smell things before I eat them.  If they don't smell good, there's a good chance that they won't taste good either.
17. I usually sing under my breath at the grocery store.
18. I just got a smartphone a few months ago.  I transferred to the dark side.
19. Bees and wasps never cease to scare me out of my wits.
20. I hate square dancing even more than I hate bees and wasps.
21. Half of the tracks I listen to are show tunes.
22. I love taking pictures of trees and nature, especially when it's raining.
23. I start drinking hot chocolate in July.
24. I love to sit outside and read during thunderstorms.
25. Pet peeve:  when people over the age of five wear bows in their hair.
26. I'm usually pretty quiet.  I tend to enjoy listening to conversations more than participating in them.
27. I'd rather go to school than stay at home all day.  #nerd
28. I can read a really good book for three hours straight.
29. The couples at my school creep me out (sorry)!
30. I rarely ever chew gum.
You're probably getting a very original picture in your head right now:  a teenager who reads books usually labeled as "old and boring," that is a huge nerd who listens to show tunes while balancing that with practicing walking in five-inch heels and being spray-tanned along with browsing the Lilly Pulitzer site and watching Pewdiepie.  Are you confused?  I don't blame you.  I am a very jumbled up mixture of extremely miscellaneous stuff, but that's why you love me.  Right?

Embrace your originality.  The world is full of rocks, but every once in a while a diamond comes along. Don't be the diamond that didn't shine brightly enough (if that makes any sense whatsoever).

Love,
Tori
