MY HECTIC WEEK

November 23, 2014

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit, but I think my reason for not doing so is pretty self-explanatory (just look at the title).  Last week was a MAJORLY stressful yet fun week, and the rest of this week is going to be a repeat.  Brace yourself:  you're going to have a picture overload!

Last week I got to visit Orlando because I had to crown my successor at the national pageant of the system I'm involved with.  The trip would've been a *tad* less stressful if my mom and I hadn't had to drive the entire way--it's about a nine hour trip.  Actually, I love road trips because I get to listen to music (one of my favorite pastimes), but after about four hours I'm pretty tired.  And I'm not even the one driving!

We got to our hotel pretty late and got settled in our room (which is a completely different ordeal altogether).  I was exhausted and my mom was probably about to fall asleep standing up.  Then there was the problem of my toe which apparently was infected...to make a long story short, we ended up going to sleep around midnight.  Ugh.

The next day was Saturday, and we had to be at the pageant venue around 6:30 PM.  After doing some homework, I hopped in the car with my mom and we went to none other than...Downtown Disney!  I share the common opinion that Disney is the "most magical place on Earth" so I was like a kid in a candy store.  I was sort of bummed that we didn't really get to ride anything, but I still had a lot of fun shopping around.

Some of these displays are just amazing!  And I'm not just saying that because Belle's my favorite...

I even spotted some stylish pooches lying around in here...

I will admit that the most life-changing experience I had the entire time was my first visit to the Ghiradelli Soda Fountain (can I move in please?).

Everyone's happy at Disney!

Sadly, then we had to leave and go get ready back at the hotel.  At about 6:30, I strolled into the parking lot wearing a full-length pageant gown, high heels, and a glitzy crown and sash.  Weird?  Nah.

Signing autographs--I can check that off of my "Life Goals" checklist!

One of the things I love about pageants is the friendships that are made while competing.  I hadn't seen her in over a year, but when we saw each other again it was like only a day had passed.

Just some of my lovely sister queens...

...and the new National Junior Miss!  CONGRATS!

She's only my favorite triple-titleholder...

After some tearful farewells and hours of packing, we made the trip home.  I jumped right back into school (I just love me some makeup work) and all the other lovely comforts of home.

Then on Thursday I missed yet another day of school for Allstate Chorus auditions.  Not only was I auditioning, I was also helping run the auditions which somehow translates into having to wake up at 4:30...

Auditions were hectic as usual but I think I did a pretty good job.  Results are coming in a few weeks!

I loved hanging out with all of the other runners and my lovely old chorus teacher (and yes, that is her coffee cup on my head)!

Things on Friday were pretty normal.

Yesterday I had a friend over and we had a Lord of the Rings-athon.  Then finally, FINALLY I got a good night's sleep.  Now I get to enjoy the companionship of Biology notes, Geometry homework, hot chocolate, and the thought of the hectic week ahead.

How was your week?

Love,
Tori
